Chapter Eight Michelle had her arms crossed in front of her. "If you just listen, you'll
see how easy it all is." Drew said. He was teaching her how to drive. The green grass had tire streaks through it. From
outside the car, William poked his head through the side window. "Drew, give the girl a break. She's been trying for two hours." Drew
locked eyes with his friend. "And every time she tries she cheats and uses her power." Michelle crossed her legs and her
knee bobbed up and down. Her jaw jutted forward. Making his decision, William opened the door. "Mate, get out of the car." "What?"
Drew's eyes grew wide. "You heard me." William slid into the passenger's seat. "What are you doing?" Michelle asked
William. "What is he doing?" Harry asked Drew as he walked off the secluded track. William ignored her as he adjusted
his seat. He sat there for a few moments. "On second thought." He got out of the car and went to the driver's side. "Get out." Michelle
did as she was told. She cast a look at the other two. Harry shook his head, bewildered. William seated himself. "All right.
Sit here." he gestured to the space in front of him. Between his legs? Michelle's eyebrows went up. William waited. She
sighed and did as she was told. William placed his hands on top of hers. "Comfortable?" Wills asked. "Mmm-hmmm" Michelle
licked her lips. She became very aware of his chest against her back. The weight of his arm. The warmth of his body. The rough
material of his jeans could be felt through her flimsy long skirt. "On the steering wheel..." Wills told her. His mouth
right near her ear. "Keys..." they jangled as he touched them. "Mirrors..." William saw Michelle's eyes stare back at him
as he checked. Her whole body was tense, that he could feel. "Relax," he told her. "Uh-huh." She did not relax. Giving
up on that for a moment, William lifted her left hand and placed it on the stick shift. "Make sure you have a good grip when
you change gears." The engine roared to life. Wills shook his head. "Drew's right... you're cheating." "How'd you know?"
Michelle demanded. "Well..." William let out the word slowly, grinning. "We're on Park." Caught, Michelle laughed, blushing.
She tuck a strand of her behind her ear. William laughed with her. "C'mon. I learned to do this. There's hope for you."
He caressed her hands supportively. Michelle abruptly stopped laughing. William continued. "This is the clutch, where
my foot is. Feel my foot? And this is your brake..."
