Chapter One
Prince William ran after the girl in the crowd. He was going to lose her! Uh-oh. She was going to glance his way. What to do?

"Give me that," someone snatched the magazine out of Lindsey Price's hand.
"Hey," she yelled, going after him. Was he crazy? What was wrong with this place? She expected this kind of thing to happen in New York, but in dignified England?
"Who do you think you are? Stealing is a crime-" she stopped when she saw his face.
He raised an eyebrow.
"Prince William?" she gawked. "Why were you-Why did you- How come-" she tried to gesture.
He glanced at the crowd. The girl he was pursuing was lost among the faces. "I was running after a girl," he explained, handing the magazine back.
"Wait. What girl? All this for a girl? She must be special,"Lin observed.
"She is," Wills said.
The secret service men came to them panting. "Your Highness, when you ran off like that- We were so worried-"
"I saw that this lady was in distress, so I rushed to help," he gave her a pleading look.
He was using her as an alibi? Oh, the things we do for love. "Yeah," she punched him companionably on the shoulder. "He could've gotten pulverized too. The guy that stole my purse was HUGE. But I guess it didn't matter to Wills who seems so bent on recuing ladies fair," she batted her eyes at him.
"You're over doing it," he hissed in her ear.
"You should've thought about that before you tagged me as the helpless female," she told him. She put her hand over her heart. "Oh Wills, how can I thank you?"
Everyone around them started to stare. Who was this girl who seemed to owe Wills her life?
Wills grew hot as he blushed all over. "Don't make a scene." he begged low enough so only she would hear.
Ha! The boy ain't seen nothing yet."I know, let my lips tell you my gratefulness." She draped herself over him.
Wills cast a helpless look at his bodyguards weren't they suppose to protect him from insane people such as her? They only stood aside, looking amused. "Uh, that won't be necessary," he told her. Trying to distangled himself.
"Oh, I insist," she told him, kissing him on the lips.
Ooohs, aaahs, and gasps rose from the crowd. Then, as Wills feared, flashes of cameras. The Royal Smooch he saw the headlines already.
Lin drew away. She couldn't believe what she had just done. But the shocked look on Wills's face had been worth it. "Thank you so very much." she said again.
"Whenever you need help madam," he told her. Was it her imagination or was his voice squeaking? He entered the car that had just pulled up by the curb.
Lin watched as the tinted windows rose up, covering his face. He probably hated her as of that moment. But hey how many girls can say they've kissed those lips? Besides she might never see him again. So there was no point in worrying if he hated her or not, right?

Chapter Two
When he sat in the chair in front of her, he had the subltlety of an airplane crashing. Lin looked up from her hot chocolate.
"You," Wills said when he saw her.
"What about me?" Lin asked. "Hey, aren't your guards always suppose to be two steps behind you?"
"They're out there." he waved to them through the window. They waved back. Wills returned to looking at a point behind her back. "Talk to me," he ordered.
"I am talking to you," she said slowly as if it weren't the most obvious thing. She looked at her back. Did he notice something she didn't? Was she growing horns on her spine? When her eyes made contact with his it all made sense. "Oh," She smirked. "It's the girl."
He held her hands. "Not so loud." he hissed.
Lin turned around in her chair. Who was this mystery woman who captured Prince William's heart? She must be really something.
"Don't turn around!" he yanked her back down in her chair. "Oh no, she's looking this way. Act if I just said something funny."
Lin raised an eyebrow. She let out a loud laugh. "Hahaha, (high giggle), hahaha!" she hit the table with her the palm of her hand several times and doubled over in her chair. She stopped abruptly, sat upright in her chair. "Like that?" she asked.
"Very nice," Wills praised sarcastically through gritted teeth. He semi-hid his face beneath his hands. ''Great, now she's really looking this way. Say something."
"What do you want me to say?" she asked.
"Anything just make it sound nice," he told her, exasperated.
Her eyes shone. A slow smile spread across her face maliciously. In the most sugary sweet voice possible she told him, "I hate you."
"I hate you too," he responded in the same manner.
She shook her head. "Not as much as I hate you."
"Impossible. The amount of hate I feel for you is unmeasurable." Wills said through a plastered smile.
"No, no, no. I hate you from negative infinity and back," she said.
Wills stood up and gazed around the place. "We lost her." he said.
"We?"Lin asked.
He grabbed her hand and led her out of the cafe.
"Why do I have to come?" Linsey demanded.
Without warning, Wills thrust her against the wall and propped his hand next to her leaning close to her.
Lin looked around. She caught sight of a girl with wavy black hair, magnolia white skin and perfectly rose colored cupid bow lips pass by. "Was that her?' she whispered, jutting her thumb in that direction.
Wills nodded. He began following her again, Lin next to him. He draped his arm on her shoulder.
"So who's Snow White's brother?" Lin wanted to know "He's pretty cute."
"That's not her brother," Wills informed. "That's her boyfriend."
"How do you know?" she asked.,
He looked uncomfortable as he replied. "He's one of my best friends."
"Going after your best friend's girlfriend, "Lin summed it up. She stopped walking. "Oh that is low, Wills." she turned to leave.
Wills came in front of her and began walking backwards in time to her steps forward. "Wait. what do you mean?"
"She's taken!"
"All good women are," he said.
"One of your best friends?" she echoed his words.
"Look it's not like I'm out to break them out."
"Then what are you trying to do?" she gave him a chance to explain.
"Waiting for oppurtunity to strike,"he said.
"Great. Wait for the girl to get all vulnerable after the break up to make your move,"she predicted. "One of the slickest moves of slimeballs everywhere." she watched as he walked backwards. An image of him walking right into a open man hole and falling through filled her mind.
"She doesn't love him," Wills said. "I'm the one that's perfect for her. I just have to make her see that."
"Why torture yourself? They might not break up anytime soon. And you'll see them hugging..."
A groan came from Wills.
"And kissing..." Lin smiled.
"No," he moaned.
"And -what's that very nice Brit term?- snogging..."
He covered his ears. "Enough already." He gasped as he walked into someone.
"Wills, I didn't see you," Snow White said.
Wills turned red (and he can turn red!) as he rubbed the back of his neck, "Kathy...." he whispered the name.
"Who's your friend?" she asked as though Lin wasn't there.
"This is- this is-" Wills stammered. He snapped his fingers repetetively.
"Lindsey Price," Lin offered. "Wills's told me so much about you." She turned her attention on the guy. "Has anyone ever told you two you look like a charming couple." she stressed the word.
The guy looked as beamed as a new father. He tweaked Kathy on the nose.
Kathy giggled.
Wills got the green eyes.
And Lin thought, Oh brother!
Kathy eyed her for a moment. "You look familiar to me."
"I don't see why. I'm not from around here. I just came by to snog Wills for a moment then I'm heading back to U.S of A," she joked.
Kathy's eyes lit up. "Now I know." She pulled from her handbag a magazine and showed them a page.
There was a full page picture of her kissing Wills!
Lin's eyes grew wide. She looked in closer. You know, it looked as if he was kissing her back. Lin tossed her hair off her shoulder as if the incident had been nothing. "Have you ever kissed Wills, Kat?" she asked. "I mean it's like nothing you've ever experienced."
Wills pressed his lips against Lin's hair. it looked as if he was giving her a kiss a top of her head. "I'll kill you. You're dead meat," he threatened.
Lin just grinned. She wondered when she ever had this much fun in her life. "Wills kiss her right now and show her what I mean."
Kathy gave Will a coy look as if the idea were tempting. "I'm sure he can't kiss as well as Ryan," she said loyaly.
"I don't know about that," Lin said. "Why don't I kiss Ryan while your kissing Wills and we'll compare notes?"
Wills jabbed her in th ribs. Enough was enough!
"Ow!" she looked up at him.
"Lin, you know I don't like you kissing other guys." he scolded her.
"So what have you two been up to?" Ryan asked.
Oh, we've just been chasing you and Kathy around because Will has this thing for your girl, she was tempted to say.
Wills caught that mischievous look in her eye. "I was just walking Lin home." he said quickly.
"Hey, we're not doing anything. We'll go with you," Ryan offered. He turned to Lin, "How far do you live from here?"
Wills, get ready for this."Twenty-five miles."
"Extensive exercise program for Eton's swim team?" Kathy laughed, showing perfect even white teeth.
"I meant I was walking Lin to my home," Wills ammended.
"Walk fast Wills," Ryan advised. He motioned with his head. "Paparazzi alert."
Wills hid his face in his hands and groaned. His guards already stepped between them and the photographers but cameras were already flashing away.
Wills grabbed Lin's hand as he led her and the rest of the group to the car approaching the curb.
He shoved her inside. "Are you okay?" he asked as he got in beside her.
"I'm fine," she told him a little overwhelmed. "So this happens to you like everyday or just when I'm around?" she teased.
"Everyday," the other three chorused.
Lin shook her head in sympathy poor Wills. She watched as through the car ride he kept stealing glances at Kathy who was making kissy faces with Ryan.
Poor Wills.

Chapter Three
"So how did you and Snow White meet?" Lin asked as she cleared the table of the snacks they had eaten in St. James Palace. Kathy and Ryan had just left just moments before.
"There are people who do that," Wills told her taking the dirty dishes from her hands.
"Habit," she told him. "And you're evading the question. How did you two meet?"
"Do you believe in love at first sight?" he asked. "It was at a party in Eton. I was nursing the punch bowl. Normally I would've been with my friends or on the dance floor showing my stuff but I didn't feel like it that night. Then she appeared."
Lin watched his features go soft.
"I remember she was wearing a white dress. Sleeveless. I remember it well, because-" he stalled.
"Yeah?" Lin prompted.
"I remember it was white because... I was so enchanted by her beauty I spilled several glasses of punch on her. Stop laughing. She ran outside crying and I ran after her. I apologized. She soon accepted. We talked the whole night. I only found out later that she' was Ryan's girl. But it was too late. I had already fallen in love."
"That is so tragic," Lin pouted. She ruffled his hair. "Wait a long long long time Wills. That couple is not going to break up any time soon." She headed for the door.
"Wait. I need to ask you something. Do you think- Well, whould she- If things were- " he stammered.
"Yes," Lin said.
"You haven't heard the question." Wills stated.
Lin raised an eyebrow. "Yes, I think she would go out with you if things were different."
Wills gave her an approving nod. She was cool.
She opened the door. Flashes of light met her. She immediately closed it. Those crazy photogaraphers were still there?
Wills came to her. "I'll have my guards escort you to your apartment."

The ringing was insistent. Lin groaned. She was on vacation. She was entitled to sleep in. The ringing went on. Lin squinted at the alarm clock. 5:30?! Who dared disturb her slumber at such an inhumane hour? She stumbled out of bed. Oh, someone was going to pay dearly. What was it that Shakespeare said? Hell hath ho fury like her waken up from sleep! She opened the door. "What!" she barked.
There were guys in suits. They looked familiar. But her brain was too tired to analyze where.
"Miss, come with us," the man said.
"You woke me up to boss me around?" she growled.
"Prince William sent us," he informed as if that could explain everything.
So Wills was the jerk!"Why?"
"He said it was a matter he could only discuss with you," the other one said. "He said it was a matter of grave consequence and that it couldn't wait."
"It couldn't wait and he didn't come by himself," Lin said.
They exchanged a look.
"Fine I'll go," the sooner she would leave the sooner she could get back to sleep. She stepped out and moved to close the door behind her.
One of the men cleared his throat."Miss, you might want to put on some pants first."

Lin couldn't believe it. He was asleep. She yanked the covers of him.
"What the-" he exclaimed.
"How do you like it, huh?" she snapped. She caught a glimpse of him in his shorts before she turned away. So that's what he wore to bed!
"Lin," he recognized the voice.
"After waking me up in the morning you're at least feeding me." She informed marching down the stairs. She raided the refridgerator. He didn't have leftover pizza?
Wills put on his bathrobe and went after her.
"What did you want to tell me?" she asked.
"You might find this hard to believe," he started. He took notice of her chomping down on a ham and cheeze sandwich. He gave her a once over and took in her frumpy clothes. His guards allowed themselves to be seen with her like this? She had on curlers in her hair and her face was hidden behind the film of a green mudpack. At least she was wearing pants. "No you're really going to find this hard to believe."
"What?" she asked.
He had trouble getting the words out. "I-I want you to be my girlfriend."

Chapter Four.
"You woke me up at five o'clock in the morning to ask me that!" Lin roared.
Wills turned away as he caught a whiff of bad morning breath. "Think about it," he looked at her green face. "Can you get that gook off? I can't carry the convesation like this."
"Why do you want me to be your girlfriend I thought you were totally gaga over Ms. Skin White As Snow." They were in the bathroom.
"I'm not asking you to be my real girlfried. Just my pretend girlfriend." He got a face cloth and handed it to Lin.
"I don't understand." Lin said.
Wills went out and came back with a magazine. It showed a pic of them talking yesterday. The article talked of a suspected romance.
"So? We both know its false." She began taking the mask off.
Wills smiled. "Why don't make it real?"
Lin looked at him in the mirrror.
"It's perfect," Wills told her, getting excited with his plan. "Go out with me. Hang on my arm and be my date for events. When Ryan and Kathy break up; you and I will too. Then I'll need a shoulder to lean on. Kathy will need a shoulder to lean on. Bingo. Instant relationship."
"Wills that is vile," Lin informed.
"I'm not going to purposely break them up," Wills said in case she misunderstood.
"Yeah, you're waiting for oppurtunity to strike. You told me," Linsey reminded. She checked her face in the mirror. All that was left was that last green smutz below her eye.
"Here let me get it," Wills offered. He rubbed his thumb against her cheek.
"I think you got it," she said, pulling away. Why was her heart beating so fast? "Look, I'm not going with this plan. Get someone else."
Wills shook his head stubbornly. "It has to be you."
Lin shrugged her shoulders and held her plams up. "Why? There are a ton of girls who'll be willing to fawn over you if you snap your fingers."
"You already know my hidden agenda," he said. "The public has already accepted us as a couple in the making. If I go with someone else it might look suspicious."
"I see." she took the curlers out of her hair and began combing. She looked at the brush. Wills better not have any lice.
"And I can stomach your kisses," he teased. He watched as she brushed. The sunlight reflected on her hair giving it a glow. He had this sudden urge to run his fingers through it. He caught himself. Kathy, he reminded himself.
"Can I stomach yours?" Lin asked. Why was he looking at her that way?
"I've been known to kiss well. You'll just have to find out," he grinned."And there's one important trait you have. Very vital," he pointed out.
"And whats that?"
"You hate me."
Lin let out a laugh. "And this is why I was chosen for this mission?" She put the brush down and walked out of the bathroom.
"Yeah," he followed her. "I hate you. You hate me. I won't have to worry about you falling in love with me and then having to tie up loose ends. With other girls that's not a sure thing. They get possessive if you call them your girlfriend."
"Aren't you afraid you might fall in love with me?" Lin stated the posssiblity.
Wills shook his head. He smiled. "Not going to happen. So anyway. We break up. No one gets hurt. I live happily ever after with Kathy and you-" he gestured. "You go to some poor guy who happens to fall in love with you."
"This'll be a great story to tell the tabloids you know," Lin pointed out. "If someone finds out."
"Who'll find out? It's just betweeen you and me,"
Mmmm... she had a secret with Prince Wills.
"I'll go out with you," Lin decided. It wasn't as if she planned anything more exciting for her vacation.
"Yes!" Wills rejoiced.
"On one condition. I'm the ditcher. Not the ditchee." Lin said. "No way am I going through my life known as the girl who was dumped by Prince Wills."
"Deal," Wills said. Kathy will be more sympathetic if he was the one that got hurt. "But you're going to have to act like your having a good time with me. Smile and stuff."
"As long as you're paying," Lin agreed. "This might not work. What if they don't break up while I'm here? I'll be going back to the States in a few weeks."
Wills dismissed the subject. "You let me worry about that."
Charles walked into the kitchen. He was surprised to see his son in the kitchen at this hour. What's more, he was with a girl. "Morning William," he greeted. "Care to introduce me to your friend?"
Wills beamed with pride. "Papa, I'd like you to meet Lin Price. She's my girlfriend."
And though Lin didn't like to admit it even to herself. The sentence had a nice ring to it.

Chapter Five
"They're all looking at me," Lin informed through clenched teeth as she got out of the car and met the crowd. Wills was taking her to Ascot to as a formal debut into society. She dressed up for the occassion. She held onto the large hat she just purchased. If it had been windy she would've gone flying.
"Just keep smiling," Wills instructed. "They're taking pictures."
Lin smiled, dutifully taking Wills's arm as they followed the royal family to the entrance. She took notice of the girls screaming Wills's name. They all looked like they wanted to kill her! "Hey, if someone tries to shoot me you're going to have to stand in front of me." Lin said.
"Have you ever been to the races my dear?" Queen Elizabeth asked, as they took their seats.
"No. I'm glad my first time will be such a pleasant experience," Lin smiled.
"Have you placed a bet?" someone else inquired. James, Lin took note.
"Aren't I below age?" she asked, feeling nervous.
"It's so much more exciting if you bet. I'll place one for you in my name. Who do you think will win?" James handed her a pair of binoculars.
